Play more games, that's what AVT is all about!

Wow - "Simon Says, Play, don't use Flash Cards!"
Please read to understand why we play ( a lot )  in AVT:

GO FISH is a great "game with rules" for this kindergarten girl. I see her through lunch, so while we munch our lunch we play a game or two practicing USING her "reading sight words"; a, of, have, and.
"Do you have a five?" "I have a 5 of diamonds and a 3 of diamonds." This girl listens well with her cochlear implant, but needs practice with those hard to hear "small words; a of, and, have".
We also rehearse questions and review number concepts.

Please note the sound panels on the walls of her classroom. Her teacher (or I) use an FM system, too.

When a mom brings a new game to our weekly AVT session, I am thrilled to learn how to play! They teach me the rules. We have a fun learning through listening while playing.

There is so much to talk about while playing games!

Cupcakes or cake-lollipops

Making cupcakes has always been a fun therapy activity. This time we tried making lollipop cakes. The girls like cupcakes better. Why? Because they are bigger!
